Adult Community Spruce Grove provides a wide range of addiction and mental health treatment to the residents of the City of Edmonton and surrounding suburban areas. The ACS program adheres to the Edmonton Zone Addiction & Mental Health Principles of Care providing quality, client focused, recovery based, concurrent capable, culturally appropriate care to those seeking supports/services within Addiction & Mental Health. Services are offered to clients and their families in the least intrusive and most appropriate manner, and include assessment, individual and group treatment and consultation. Interventions may be done in the clinic, community, or in a client’s home, dependent on the identified needs. In the Mental Health Clinician (MHC) position you will work within an interdisciplinary team to provide individual supportive counselling and case management to clients with a wide variety of clinical presentations. The MHC engages clients in ongoing mental status assessment, risk assessment, supportive therapy and case management including coordination of medication administration, coverage and other financial assistance for clients with complex addiction and mental health needs. The MHC works collaboratively with the client’s primary care provider to transition care back to their medical home once stabilized. The ideal candidate will have excellent knowledge of addiction and mental health assessment and diagnosis and be able to navigate within both the health system as well as with external stakeholders to ensure the coordination of services to best meet the client’s needs. Description:
As a Mental Health Clinician, you will work as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team collaborating on the delivery of care for the needs of individuals, families and/or communities. You will be responsible for the intake, clinical interviews, and screening of clients with addiction and mental health disorders. You will liaise with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and work collaboratively with other team members as required. You may have the opportunity to participate in program planning, development and to provide supervision to practicum students. This position is open to Registered Nurses, Registered Psychiatric Nurses, Registered Social Workers, Registered Psychologists, and Registered Occupational Therapists.
