Reporting to the Unit Manager, the Mental Health Clinician functions as a member of the Psychiatric Outreach Response Team (PORT). This position is responsible for assessment of newly referred clients and the ongoing treatment and follow-up of adolescent (13-17) and adult as well as geriatric clients with moderate to severe addiction & mental health disorders. The model of care is case management focusing on crisis stabilization, assessment, treatment, and connection to community and AHS resources. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. Description:
As a Mental Health Clinician, you will work as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team collaborating on the delivery of care for the needs of individuals, families and/or communities. You will be responsible for the intake, clinical interviews and screening of clients with addiction and mental health disorders. You will liaise with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and work collaboratively with other team members as required. You may have the opportunity to participate in program planning, development and to provide supervision to practicum students. This position is open to Registered Nurses, Registered Psychiatric Nurses, Registered Social Workers, Registered Psychologists, and Occupational Therapists.
