Our multidisciplinary health professionals and case managers take a collaborative approach to mental health care by linking with their patients to work together and consult within an environment appropriate to the person’s needs.
Child, Youth and Family Mental Health (CYF-MH) provides services to children, young people, and their families in the Nepean and Blue Mountains community where mental health issues are impacting on their emotional wellbeing, relationships, and day to day functioning. CYF-MH offers mental health assessment, psychoeducation, clinical support, and specialist intervention services. CYF-MH is committed to working in partnership with families and the systems around them to provide safe, person centred, trauma informed and recovery orientated care.
The primary purpose of the Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMH) Allied Health Clinician is to provide community-based mental health services to children and young people (5 – 18 years) and their families who require a community mental health response. The primary purpose of this role is to provide rapid, developmentally appropriate assessment and person centred care through the provision of care plans which fits the family’s needs e.g. outreach or in a centre close to them.
This role involves engaging in comprehensive assessments and delivering developmentally appropriate, evidenced based therapeutic interventions, aimed at supporting the young person’s emotional wellbeing, mental health, and fostering family, community and school relationships. The clinician works closely with young people and their families to enhance their sense of agency and build their capacity for improving mental health and wellbeing. This is achieved through tailored care planning and coordination.
