In 2025, Benchmark Human Services celebrates 65 Years of Stories! Benchmark Human Services has grown to become one of the most respected organizations in the country in the areas of intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and behavioral health. Our Georgia Community Action Treatment (CAT) program is recruiting for a Mental Health Clinician. The program serves region 1 and region 2 of Georgia.

Georgia Community Action Treatment (CAT) is intended to be a safe and effective alternative for children with serious behavioral health conditions that are creating crisis in the family. Upon successful completion, the family should have the skills and support system needed to maintain improvements made during services. The goals of the CAT program are to:

  • Strengthen the family and support systems for youth and your adults to assist them to live successfully in the community.
  • Decrease out – of – home placements, including psychiatric hospitalizations and Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) involvement.
  • Improve family and youth functioning.
  • Decrease substance use and abuse.
  • Transition into age – appropriate services.
  • Increase health and wellness.
Responsibilities

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position serves as an integral member of a team where safety and well-being of children, adolescent, adults, and all members of the family unit is paramount. The Mental Health Clinician (MHC) will provide clinical services to individuals and families to promote healthy development for children, adolescent and families. The MHC will also support, advocate and link families to community resources to foster self-sufficiency while building on community strengths and cultural groups. Hybrid position with Remote & Community based duties and responsibilities.
The following licensures qualify: LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LMSW, LAPC, or LAMFT.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Comply with all standards to ensure the health and safety of all individuals.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of a comprehensive individualized initial assessment and all service plans with goals and objectives.
  • Attend and actively participate in all meetings with the Department of Child Services for the development of safety planning for assigned cases.
  • Establish and maintain routine collaborative meetings with community partners to promote partnerships between Benchmark and the systems partner.
  • Synthesize information from treatment records, risk stratification, and other sources to assess program enrollees.
  • Apply Knowledge of care coordination techniques in assessing the needs of individuals and determining interventions to address those gaps.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in job duties and schedule in order to aid in better serving the organization, the individuals we serve and to assist in reaching high quality standards set forth by Benchmark.
  • Allow for flexibility in scheduling to accommodate crisis situations for individuals.
  • Document all case activity in accordance with program policy and maintain case records in compliance with agency, regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Attend regularly scheduled meetings and training sessions to enhance team performance.
  • Provide family advocacy as needed.
  • Provide crisis intervention as necessary.
  • Provide 24/7 on-call supports for all assigned individuals and families.
  • Report any suspected abuse, neglect or exploitation to supervisor or department supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.
