Your role at St John of God Social Outreach We are looking to hire a Mental Health Social Worker (Grade 2) or Psychologist on a permanent part-time basis to join our Mental Wellbeing Services in Bendigo, Victoria. Our team comes from a range of clinical, health and community care backgrounds. Together, we offer an equally broad range of evidence-based mental health support and education, counselling and psychotherapy services. All delivered in the community. All tailored to suit the individuals and families that need them. All in partnership with general practitioners and other local healthcare providers. You will be expected to work independently and demonstrate a specialist level knowledge and depth of experience, participate in teaching, training and research, to supervisor students and mentor junior caregivers. The Position Provide evidence based Mental Wellbeing Services to consumers/carers within the clinical specialty area/s. Provide mental health assessment, intervention and evaluation at an advanced practice level for complex and general caseload/s. Ensures prioritisation and delegation of duties for own caseload and supervised caregivers. Contributes to the evaluation of the Mental Wellbeing Service and Clinical Specialty, to ensure continuous improvement. Ensures effective multidisciplinary teamwork through professional communication and comprehensive liaison with colleagues, consumers/carers and service providers. Ensures maintenance of appropriate clinical documentation and clinical information systems. Demonstrates reflective practice and commitment to professional development. Supports the Mental Wellbeing Service through communicating issues and ideas for enhancing the service (through to the Manager). You will have senior clinical experience and leadership in a specialised area of practice within a healthcare setting, ability to undertake professional supervision and/or mentor junior staff and develop evidence based, innovative clinical practices and initiation of quality improvement activities. Successful applicants will have tertiary qualifications in Social Work and be eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Work and eligible for Mental Health credentialing.
