This position will fulfill the role of a Mental Health Clinician in Transitional Aged Youth Ambulatory Mental Health Services in Mental Health Services. Job Description: The incumbent will be responsible for completing comprehensive bio-psychosocial assessments and provide targeted treatment to Youth, Young Adults and their families via structured individual and group therapy. The principle modalities for treatment delivery are Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. Responsibilities also include providing mental health care to patients with complex medical and psychiatric needs, facilitating and co-facilitating psychotherapy groups, and fostering a therapeutic milieu. Provide clinical teaching, mentoring and/or supervision for discipline specific students; engaging with inter-professional education experiences with students of all health disciplines. Reporting to the Clinical Manager of the Ambulatory Mental Health Services, the successful candidate will be an integral member of the inter-professional team. Qualifications: Master’s Degree in regulated health care profession (Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Nursing, Registered Psychotherapist (authorized to practice independently) Membership with professional college, in good standing and authorized to practice independently Minimum three years of clinical experience working with youth and young adults individuals living with mental health and/or concurrent disorders. Extensive training and experience providing time limited, evidenced based treatment, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. Solid individual and group psychotherapy skills required and essential. Knowledgeable with data collection tools. Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills combined with the ability to work independently as well as part of an inter-professional team Ability to prioritize competing demands, positive work and attendance record, required Hospital based experience is considered an asset. Professional Attributes & Responsibilities: Solid mental health experience working with youth and young adults who are living with acute and complex mental health challenges. Experience working effectively within an inter-professional collaboration model Training in DBT and CBT required Experienced in leading/co-leading DBT & CBT Skills groups Experienced providing individual counselling Experienced in Risk Assessments (self-harm, harm to others, suicidality, safety) Demonstrates commitment to hospital-based patient and family-centered care.
