About the Role In this role, you will perform a variety of direct and indirect patient care responsibilities, working closely with nursing staff and the interdisciplinary treatment team. You will play a vital role in supporting patients’ daily needs, maintaining a safe and therapeutic milieu, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality psychiatric care. Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities Demonstrate a strong commitment to quality patient care and the mission of BayRidge Hospital Work effectively and collaboratively with the multidisciplinary treatment team to support optimal patient outcomes Serve as a preceptor for new employees and provide education and guidance to staff as needed Utilize clinical supervision constructively to support professional growth and development Attend and actively participate in clinical and treatment team meetings that impact patient care Maintain a solid understanding of hospital policies, procedures, and protocols Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives that promote positive patient outcomes Maintain knowledge of and comply with regulatory and accrediting agency standards (DMH, DPH, The Joint Commission, payors, etc.) Accurately observe, record, and report patient symptoms, reactions, treatments, and status changes to the Registered Nurse Monitor the patient milieu to ensure safety and promote a positive therapeutic environment Respond to patient care needs, including assisting with personal hygiene, activities of daily living, and comfort measures Collaborate with nurses to assist with patient care and clinical needs Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers, ensuring patient safety throughout the process Conduct belongings searches, safeguard patient valuables, and enter required information into hospital systems Participate in treatment team meetings, assist with development of care plans, and communicate shift-related concerns to the Registered Nurse Maintain required annual and biannual certifications, including CPR and Aggression Management Perform other duties as assigned to support hospital operations and patient care Why BayRidge Hospital? Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
