Job Purpose Provides trauma-informed mental health counseling services to clients of TRM participants in order to facilitate their capacity to overcome the impacts of adverse childhood experiences, addictions, and attachment difficulties, and also improve their ability to pursue spiritual growth. Duties & Responsibilities Provides an agreed upon minimum of direct client hours per week of individual, family, couples counseling, or case management. Carries a caseload with a minimum of 15 clients as assigned by supervisor. Leads 1-2 workshops or groups per week as assigned by supervisor. Maintains client record-keeping systems in keeping with ethical best-practices, including measurable treatment outcome records. Maintains best practices for relational counseling in a Christian ministry environment. Coordinates services as necessary and beneficial with all TRM client program departments and outside agencies. Promotes safety and security of TRM programs and facilities. Participates in regular supervision and consults with Counseling Team. Embodies the values that form our culture to meet the organization’s mission of sharing God’s love, hope, and support with our neighbors in need to uplift communities. Performs other duties as assigned to support others and ensure an efficient and effective work environment. Working Conditions Some office work and some travel required between locations. Requirements Master’s Degree in Counseling and Counseling Licensure credentials in Washington state. Additional training in trauma-informed care and trauma-specific approaches preferred. Additional training in quality assurance and policy compliance to include Ethical Codes of Conduct required by State and Professional Standards. Skilled in clear and effective written, verbal, and electronic communication. Demonstrated success making independent decisions and taking actions showing good judgment. Ability to prevent or resolve conflict with grace and accountability. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and foster teamwork in a diverse environment using effective and thoughtful interactions and communication. Access to a vehicle for frequent travel throughout Pierce County and TRM locations, for functions relevant to this position. Meets TRM Driver Requirements (Valid Driver’s License, Evidence of Insurability, and acceptable driving record). Certificates and Licenses LMHC/LMFT/LICSW or equivalent credential in Washington state. Associate’s license may be considered. Valid Driver’s License.
