AFAN CLUSTER

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting individuals facing mental health challenges. You will work closely with patients to help implement care plans, monitor their progress, and provide essential support in a therapeutic environment. Your ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate leadership qualities will be key to fostering a positive atmosphere for both patients and staff.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience in a mental health setting is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with patients and colleagues.
  • Understanding of care plans and the ability to contribute to their development.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with IT systems relevant to healthcare documentation is advantageous.
  • A compassionate nature with a commitment to supporting individuals in their mental health journey.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as required by the needs of the service.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualised care plans for patients.
  • Monitor patient behaviour and report any changes or concerns to the healthcare team.
  • Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients during their recovery process.
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions and engage patients in therapeutic activities.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions and progress.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Uphold safety protocols and ensure a secure environment for both patients and staff.
  • Utilise IT systems effectively for record-keeping and communication purposes.
