Description Posterity Group LLC is a veteran owned, service-disabled small business, headquartered in Rockville, MD, that specializes in federal government contracting and staffing. We are tasked with staffing the Ralph H. Johnson VAMC with Mental Health Inpatient Psych Registered Nurses (RNs). The Psych RNs are expected to do the following: The Mental Health RN will be responsible for the delivery of quality, age specific healthcare; for utilizing sound clinical judgement to ensure positive patient outcomes for Veterans. The RN assesses, plans, implements, supervises, teaches, evaluates, and documents patient care; serves as an integral member of the treatment team; and is responsible for helping to produce a therapeutic environment and plan of care to promote optimal health status. The Mental Health RN may provide periodic coverage for 3a Inpatient Psych. The Nurse functions both dependently and independently with guidance and direction from the Nurse Manager/designee The Mental Health RN is responsible for direct patient care within the behavioral health inpatient unit and facilitates the appropriate plan of care. Accompany and/or transport patients to appointments/procedures as necessary. The Mental Health RN is expected to care for a population of male and female Veterans ranging in age from young adult, age 18 to the elderly age 65 and older and managing patient care promoting positive patient outcomes including areas of assessments: Mental Health Nursing Assessment and the Clinical Institute Withdrawal of Alcohol Scale. He/she is expected to manage care by promoting positive patient outcomes including the areas of medical and psychiatric emergencies, detox (withdrawal symptoms) and patient safety. Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient transition through the continuum of care, patient and family education, patient self-management after discharge, and supporting factors that impact customer satisfaction. Complete and accurate documentation of care according to facility/unit policies RN possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patients’ requirements relative to their age-specific needs, providing care as necessary and influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team. May be required to work with COVID 19 positive patients and Patients Under Investigation (PUI), for COVID 19 Requirements RNs must have a current license in at least one state, territory, or commonwealth in the US or the District of Columbia. Proof of current license must be provided five business days prior to their first shift, and at the licensure renewal rate. This also applies to all other required certifications. Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or in related field or a master’s degree in Nursing or in related field is highly preferred. Valid BLS/CPR Valid ACLS (preferred) at least 3 years of relevant experience
