The post holder will work within agreed protocols, to perform clinical assessment, initiate investigations, determine differential diagnosis and undertake appropriate first line interventions, - specifically this post will lead on the psychiatric assessment of service users referred to Mental Health Services. You will utilise expert knowledge base and clinical competence, to support multi-professional teams, ensuring a high standard of clinical care, in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and health and safety legislation.
You will provide first line clinical cover for the assessment and treatment of individuals with mental health needs within general acute and mental health services and provide leadership, clinical support and advice to nursing and junior medical staff, making appropriate referrals to and co-ordinating the contribution of other members of the multi-professional team and facilitate, participate in audit and quality assurance programmes, promoting evidence based practice.
