Job Title: Mental Health Practitioner - Children’s Home Provider
Reports To: Clinical Director
Location: Wakefield, however may travel to other homes in Lancashire.
Salary: £32500 - £40,000 PA (Depending on experience)
Hours: 37.5 Hours Per Week (Flexibility Required)
Monday to Friday (Out Of Hours) when needs arise

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Mental Health Practitioner, whose professional background and training is underpinned by theories of working with trauma, attachment and loss. You will have good working knowledge in working with children and young people in the Care sector with a minimum of two years working with children in Residential Care. We are currently seeking a Mental Health Practitioner to cover our homes in Preston, Lancashire areas. However, commuting to our home in West Yorkshire required on occasion.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

  • A relevant qualification in mental health, psychology, counselling, or a related field.
  • Experience working collaboratively with CAMHS or other mental health professionals.
  • Level 5 in Management or Equivalent is desirable.
  • Previous experience working with children and young people in a therapeutic or mental health setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of children’s mental health issues and an understanding of trauma-informed care.
  • Familiarity with therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), or Play Therapy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a caseload effectively.
  • MH experience
  • Positive behaviour management training/understanding.
  • DOLS experience
  • Neuro de-escalation experience
  • Autism experience
