JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to individuals in need, including those with dementia and other health challenges. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care, along with the ability to assist with daily living activities and promote the well-being of our clients in various settings such as nursing homes and hospice care.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred, particularly in senior care or hospice settings.
  • Knowledge of dementia care practices is highly desirable.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with physical mobility challenges.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to patient care.
  • A background in nursing or related fields is advantageous but not essential.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with clients and team members.

Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care and support to clients, ensuring their comfort and dignity at all times.
  • Assist with meal preparation and ensure clients receive adequate nutrition.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies to support clients with challenging behaviours.
  • Help clients with mobility, including heavy lifting when necessary, while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote mental and emotional well-being.
  • Maintain accurate records of client care and report any changes in health or behaviour to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare staff to ensure comprehensive care for each client.
  • Support clients in their daily routines, fostering independence wherever possible.
