“My Care Circle” is a "Service for One". We are not a traditional service provider, but a bespoke NDIS participant family owned 24/7 service to a single client. The client is a 26 year-old young man who requires a 2:1 continuous care service. There is a Registered Nurse/Paramedic and Support worker on each shift. Long shifts with no running between clients for a few hours here and there. You will be part of a Core team and have a 4-week cyclical roster. We believe the client will only get the stable sustainable service he requires if staff are treated well and paid competitively. 

About the Role

 You will provide in home and community access supports so that the client can live his best life between his seizures. You will work alongside a Registered Nurse or Paramedic and will assist and be directed by these clinically trained personnel to manage seizures. You will be trained in seizure management and to implement the clients Positive Behaviour Support Pan (no restrictive practice). The Team will have access to a vehicle to transport the client into the community so a valid driver's license is a must. You will also assist in the running of the clients home including cooking, cleaning and gardening tasks as part of a Team of approximately 14 staff. The service is a continuous 24/7 model of care, so the role involves working with your Team members to deliver this service without gaps. Flexibility and the ability to swap your shifts with others in your Team will give you and your team members lifestyle flexibility within the roster. You will be rostered in a 4-week cyclical roster with shifts consisting of 0730 to 1530, 1530 to 2200 followed by an 8hr sleepover and 0600 to 0730 awake. Specifically the 4 week cyclical roster gives you 88 hrs awake shifts including one weekend and 32hrs sleepovers (ie 4 nights). Sleepovers are paid at a $125 per 8hr night. There is the ability to work extra hours for sick leave, rec leave etc. This is a rare opportunity to make a difference in one young man's life.

You will have experience in a range of life skills and a good work ethic. You will have good time management skills. You will have a compassionate and caring nature with the intent to make a difference in a young man's life. You will be a Team Player who shows commitment to fulfilling the shifts you are employed to perform in a manner that displays honesty, integrity, initiative and proactivity. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and a willingness to learn on the job and through training opportunities that will be offered. Experience in epilepsy management and or with the implementation of a Positive Behaviour Support Plan (no restrictive practice) is highly valued but not mandatory as you will be trained to the client's specific needs.
