ABOUT THE ROLE

Our Rural Youth Mental Health (RYMH) team provides individualised, holistic, and collaborative mental health support to young people, 12-25 years, across a range of communities in Western NSW. You will support young people to build their social and emotional well-being, to recognise and manage their mental health through individualised therapeutic support, group work and case management.
Working collaboratively within communities and with a range of service partners, you will reduce barriers for young people to engage with services and reduce the impact of mental health challenges.

DUTIES

  • Develop positive working relationships with young people to support their mental health recovery journey by identifying goals and developing individualised plans, ensuring the client is actively engaged in the process.
  • Coordinate with other service providers including government departments and agencies, schools, health services, GP’s, and allied health providers to ensure services are delivered.
  • Linking young people to appropriate services to ensure holistic support is in place to facilitate recovery.
  • Contribute to and be an active participant in a small and supportive team environment.
  • Overnight travel is a requirement of this position.
