Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This is a full-time permanent opportunity of 38 hours per week, located in Penrith. Base hourly rate of $34.46 to $36.46 negotiable based on experience, plus super, plus access to generous salary packaging options.

The Mental Health Support Worker - Family & Carer Mental Health Program - is responsible for providing education, training, and individual support to families and carers of people with mental illness, aiming to improve their wellbeing, resilience, coping skills and relationships. Working within the recovery model and using a holistic, person-cantered approach, you will support the carer to achieve their goals and build capacity so they can support their loved one with a mental illness.

  • Provide support and training to carers of people with a mental illness.
  • You will be responsible for a caseload of families and carers, providing 1 to 1 emotional support, linking carers and families to services, supports, education and support groups
