Your Opportunity:
Are you interested in joining the Rural Mental Health & Addiction team? The opportunity to work with the Seniors Mental Health Day program, Shared Care, & local community Seniors is available. Recovery Alberta Mental Health & Addiction Seniors Community Services is looking for an experienced, skilled team member to fill a temporary 1.0 FTE Mental Health Therapist position. In this position, you will provide mental health services to clients aged 65+ (or those considered functionally geriatric), presenting with complex & chronic mental illnesses. Working independently & on a multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed & best practices in assessment, therapeutic intervention, consultation & referrals. You will perform the restricted activity of psychosocial intervention using various treatment modalities (individual, group) to persons experiencing complex mental health difficulties. You will maintain accurate, appropriate & timely documentation, facilitate referrals to treatment/community programs & build relationships with community collaborators. You will liaise, work in partnership with, & provide consultation to community agencies, professionals, & physicians in the continuum of Mental Health & Addiction care. In a rural setting, the successful candidate must function well independently & interdependently within small office settings as well as a larger Rural Team. Primarily located at the Prairie Ridge Seniors Mental Health Day program in Raymond; the position also requires providing psychological services once a week in the Raymond & Magrath medical clinics as part of the Shared Care initiative. The position reports to the Manager of the Rural Addiction & Mental Health Community Team.
