Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the OBRA Coordinator, the OBRA Assessor is responsible for assisting in triaging referrals and completing the Psychosocial and Psychiatric sections of the OBRA Pre-Admission Screening and Annual Resident Review Process (PASARR). Utilizing the guidelines of MDHHS/PASARR completes assessments for all persons who are considering long-term care and have a severe and persistent mental illness and/or intellectual/developmental disability or other related diagnoses. Conducts on-going assessments, annually or when there is a significant change in condition. Utilizing in-depth chart reviews, direct interviews with consumers, legal representatives/families, and our community partners is responsible to document relevant data and complete written narrative summaries. The written summary narrative includes recommendations and justification for placement in a community setting or facility as well recommendations for treatment and/or interventions to assist in care planning. Responsible for carrying out all activities of the program/sub-unit in such a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies and procedures.
Requirements: Possession of a Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field is required or must be obtained within 60 days of application. Possession of an appropriate State of MI credential is required or must have applied for and be able to obtain within 60 days of hire. One year experience (professional or paraprofessional) in treating or working with persons with mental illness required or one academic year of graduate practicum/internship experience working with persons with mental illness required. Access to reliable means of transportation for job related use required. Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing is required. May be required to operate a computer. Other requirements needed for this classification will depend upon the area of assignment and program need.
Conditional Employment Requirements: Must pass background verification and credentialing procedure consisting of: Michigan State Police clearance check, verification of a professional license, Medicaid/Medicare verification, verification of an acceptable driving record, educational background check and verification of an acceptable work history. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Salary/Hours: $58,843-$66,788 annually with scheduled increases that can result in a salary of $77,230. Full time, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.
