Your Opportunity:
Henwood Treatment Centre is a 62-bed live-in treatment centre for those experiencing a substance use concern or a co-occurring substance use and mental health concern. The Mental Health Therapist (MHT) harm reduction and trauma informed principles into the care they provide to all who access residential treatment services. The MHT will work as part of our interdisciplinary team, providing recovery oriented, and trauma informed treatment to adults experiencing addiction, mental health or concurrent mental health and addiction concerns. The successful applicant must be able to work in a fast paced environment, be flexible and adaptable and be able to provide both individual and group treatment. Critical thinking, advanced knowledge of mental health conditions and knowledge and application of evidence based treatment modalities is essential. The successful applicant must be able to work collaboratively with all those accessing services, families, other care providers and community stakeholders. Duties include but are not limited to conducting comprehensive concurrent mental health/addiction assessments. This includes direct observation/examination and the collection of relevant client data from the client and collateral sources where available. Reviews collected data and assessment findings to formulate a provisional diagnostic impression, in consultation with other disciplines as needed. In collaboration with the client (and family and other providers when appropriate) develops a comprehensive recovery plan. Ensures the recovery plan outlines the SMART goals the client wishes to work towards; anticipated timelines and expected outcomes.
Description:
As the Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.
