JOB SUMMARY

Wayside Recovery Center is seeking a Mental Health Professional to provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of co-occurring mental health needs of clients. Treatment of clients will involve assessment and therapy, with clients who present with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorder diagnoses.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Competence in providing trauma informed care, substance use disorder treatment, diagnostic assessments, motivational interviewing and family programming.
  • Requires the demonstrated ability to relate effectively to women of diverse economic and cultural backgrounds.
  • Must be able to pass DHS background study.
  • Dual licensure is preferred. Master’s degree in counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work or related field.
  • Master’s Degree in the behavioral sciences
  • Current clinical license as a mental health professional in the State of Minnesota (LP, LPCC, LICSW or LMFT) with no restrictions.

Responsibilities
  • Become credentialed with all major health insurance agencies within a reasonable amount of time.
  • Provide therapeutic services to individuals referred through Wayside’s Intake department.
  • Participation as a member of a multidisciplinary team, crisis intervention, provision of supervision to trainees and staff seeking licensure and ongoing care planning.
  • Provide individual and/or group therapy utilizing evidence-based intervention strategies and best practices.
  • Provide mental health assessment, ensuring proper identification of mental health and substance use concerns, as well as barriers to recovery and stability.
  • Provide mental health consultation and information in order to educate clients, customers, and staff members regarding the dynamics of mental health issues in recovery. Seek and receive consultation from others in order to provide comprehensive care.
  • Facilitate crisis intervention to ensure safety and wellbeing of patients.
  • Follow all 245G guidelines.
  • Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with state guidelines and HIPAA requirements, in addition to a working understanding of CRF-42.
