JOB SUMMARY:

The Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) will offer Weingart Center clients a range of clinical services, including recovery meetings; mental health support and therapy groups, education workshops; life skills classes, including anger management, conflict resolution, relationship skills and other appropriate topics; relapse prevention and individualized one-on-one counseling. The LCSW / LMFT will also provide extensive staff training, serve as consultative resource for WCA, develop and refine client assessment tools and help recruit and manage mental health and substance abuse interns and experts.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  1. Standing and sitting for long periods of time along with being able to move and walk to various locations; stair climbing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pulling, pushing, bending, twisting, and lifting (20-25 lbs.) and some driving.
  2. Ability to see, hear and talk clearly in order to receive instruction and to give instructions as a manager.
  3. Ability to operate a computer efficiently. Must be able to operate all types of office equipment.
  4. Work indoors in temperature controlled environment.
  5. Complex reading and writing skills. Ability to read, proof, and analyze complex documents. High level concentration and attention to detail for extended periods of time required.
  6. Ability to quickly organize and communicate thoughts and to understand communications from others. Ability to communicate effectively with individuals in the organization, on the Board, and outside providers and consultant.
  7. Ability to work independently, with others, around others, have verbal contact with others, face-to-face contact with others and prioritize work and make decisions.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Experience in the delivery of social services to homeless and/or low income people preferred. Experience in management, program development and staff supervision, preferably 2 years minimum.
  • Strong writing skills, excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Creative and sensitive to the needs of low income and homeless clients.
  • Computer proficient.
  • The ability to manage several projects simultaneously in a fastpaced environment. Flexibility in meeting deadlines and adjusting to changing priorities
  • Exhibits professional manner when interfacing with professional staff, WCA visitors, contractors, vendors and programs and services providers.
  • Ability to supervise interns in various levels of education.

EDUCATION/TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

  • LCSW or LMFT required. Licensed for at least 2 years strongly preferred.
  • Substance abuse, mental health and dual diagnosis treatment and service delivery
  • Experience and strong knowledge base of treatment modalities.
  • Experience in clinical assessment and diagnosis
  • 23 years supervisory experience preferred.
