The Conroy-CADD IBHS is a collaborative effort between Western Psychiatric Hospital (WPH) of UPMC and the Pittsburgh Public Schools, which began in 1994. This behavioral health service provides individualized treatment focusing on positive behavior supports and the development of social and functional communication skills while in an academic setting. The Program is designed to meet the challenging and unique mental health needs of children and adolescents between the ages of 5 and 21 years, dually diagnosed with developmental disabilities and psychiatric and/or behavioral disorders. The Program runs for 9 months covering the academic year. Students are involved in the Program 30 hours per week and 6 hours per day. A length of stay in the Program is typically 9 months.
The Conroy CADD Behavioral Health service mission is to provide treatment focused on reducing or eliminating symptoms and behaviors that are inhibiting the child’s ability to reach his or her fullest potential in the home and school environments.
