Position Details:

• Location: Concord, NH
• Schedule Options:
• 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
• 10:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• Shift Type: Weekday shifts (Some weekend availability may be requested)
• Duration: 26 Weeks (with potential for direct hire)
• Hours: Up to 40 hours per week
• Employment Type: Contract, Full Time
• Pay Range: $20.94 – $24.64 per hour (DOE)

Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Admission & Orientation:

Assist with admission procedures, conduct contraband searches, orient patients to the unit, and secure patient valuables.

• Direct Patient Care:

Assist with hygiene needs (bathing, grooming), monitor patient behavior, document observations, and support patients with meals and nutrition tracking.

• Safety & Supervision:

Escort and supervise patients during internal and external activities (medical appointments, legal proceedings, etc.). Ensure a clean, safe environment following infection control and fire safety standards.

• De-escalation & Behavioral Support:

Provide emotional support to anxious or agitated patients. Recognize and help de-escalate unsafe behaviors.

• Documentation & Communication:

Maintain accurate documentation of patient behaviors and status changes. Communicate important updates to clinical staff.

• Plan of Care Support:

Reinforce treatment goals, observe behaviors, and report critical changes to the RN or Nursing Coordinator.

• Professional Growth & Compliance:

Complete required trainings, attend staff meetings, and stay current on hospital and unit-based policy updates.

Requirements:

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (Required). Additional coursework in Mental Health or related field preferred.
• Experience: Previous experience in a psychiatric or behavioral health setting strongly preferred.
• Certifications: Must meet facility-specific onboarding requirements (background check, drug screening, etc.).
• Strong communication, documentation, and crisis management skills.
• Ability to remain calm in high-stress situations.
• Physically able to assist with patient care and behavioral interventions.
