Overview Introduction The ParentsNext program is a government initiative designed to assist eligible parents to plan and prepare for employment by the time their children go to school. It operates in all non-remote areas of Australia. This important role works with disadvantaged parents to assist them in preparing for their return to the workforce. ParentsNext Consultants work with parents to assist them in setting education and employment goals. You will help our customers with developing a pathway plan and linking them to services and activities in the local community to help achieve their goals and overcome barriers to employment. The opportunity Empower our customers by helping them identify individual education and employment goals Provide our customers with career advice and labour market information on local employment and education opportunities Collaboratively identify strategies to meet individual needs using a holistic approach Engage with the local community to build relationships and coordinate and refer our customers to community agencies Assist customers apply for jobs, develop and tailor CVs, prepare for interviews, understand employer expectations and to build employability skills About you Ability to build relationships within the community Your high level of interpersonal communication, strong organisational skills and commitment to customer service will ensure your success You have an empathetic approach, and are able to build trust and rapport You are an effective problem solver Hold or have the ability to obtain a Working with Vulnerable People or Children Check (or equivalent) You hold a current drivers licence Diversity and Inclusion We are proud to hold the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) Employer of Choice Citation and be a recognised Disability Confident Company.
