Experience & Education

  • Minimum 2 years’ direct program delivery experience in a community-based social service setting with a bachelor’s degree in social work, Counselling, Education, Psychology, Child & Youth Care, or related field; OR
  • Minimum 3 years’ related experience with a two-year post-secondary diploma in a related human services field.
  • Experience working with children, youth, and families, ideally in a not-for-profit setting.
  • Experience supporting and engaging volunteers is an asset.
  • Commitment to building inclusive programs for diverse communities.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience considered.

Other Knowledge / Skills / Abilities / Training

  • Strong understanding of issues affecting youth and families in the Lower Mainland, including housing insecurity, mental health, systemic racism, gender inequality, and barriers to post-secondary access and success.
  • Strong youth group facilitation skills, including the ability to engage participants, manage group dynamics, and create an inclusive learning environment
  • Familiar with community support systems.
  • Ability to provide trauma-informed, inclusive support.
  • Strong communication, outreach, and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable working independently and in teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; case management database experience is a plus.
  • Flexible schedule, including some evenings/weekends.
  • A valid driver’s license is a plus.
  • Second language skills an asset.
