Description Discover your exciting role We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated MEP Design Manager for Data Centre Constructions (m/f/d) for our Data Center Business Unit in Vienna, Austria. Start asap. Explore your tasks and responsibilities Lead and manage the MEP design development process in collaboration with design consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders Oversee the preparation and coordination of detailed MEP design packages, ensuring alignment with data centre requirements (including power density, cooling loads, redundancy, and scalability) Review and validate designs for compliance with local building codes, data centre standards (e.g., Uptime Institute Tier Certifications, ASHRAE), and client specifications Conduct value engineering exercises to optimize performance and cost without compromising design integrity Coordinate closely with architectural, structural, and civil design teams to ensure fully integrated building systems Monitor MEP design progress against project timelines and identify/mitigate risks or delays Manage design change control, RFIs, and ensure design intent is maintained through construction Provide technical leadership during construction, including responding to design queries, reviewing submittals/shop drawings and supporting commissioning activities Ensure sustainability and energy efficiency targets are met, working with relevant certification schemes (LEED, BREEAM, etc.) Interface with client representatives, attend project meetings, and prepare status reports Show your expertise Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline; Master’s preferred Chartered Engineer or working towards (e.g., CEng, PE) Ideally at least 8–10 years of experience in MEP design, with multiple years in data centre projects Strong understanding of critical infrastructure systems including power distribution, backup systems, HVAC, and fire protection Experience with BIM, Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD Excellent project management, communication, and leadership skills Familiarity with international data centre standards (TIA-942, Uptime Institute, etc.) Due to legal reasons, we must disclose the minimum salary for this position, which is € 70.000 gross per year based on full-time employment.
