JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented MEP Draftsman with over 6 years of experience to join our reputable engineering consultancy in Sharjah. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) drawings for construction and tendering purposes, ensuring all plans are accurate, compliant with local codes, and meet client specifications.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diploma or degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or relevant drafting certification.
  • Minimum of 6 years of proven experience as an MEP Draftsman in the UAE, preferably in consultancy firms.
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit MEP, Navisworks, and BIM 360 is a strong advantage.
  • Familiarity with UAE codes and standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, DEWA/SEWA regulations, etc.).
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Experience working on high-rise buildings, villas, commercial, and industrial projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Understanding of sustainable MEP systems and energy efficiency considerations.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed shop drawings for HVAC, Plumbing, Firefighting, and Electrical systems.
  • Develop coordinated MEP drawings integrating architectural and structural components.
  • Revise drawings based on engineers’ feedback and site requirements.
  • Collaborate with MEP engineers and architects to ensure optimal layout and coordination.
  • Maintain and organize drawing files, ensuring proper version control.
  • Conduct clash detection and provide solutions to mitigate conflicts in services.
  • Ensure drawings comply with local regulations, DEWA, SEWA, Civil Defense, and other authority requirements.
  • Attend coordination meetings with project teams when required.
  • Assist in quantity take-offs and material submittals related to MEP works.
  • Prepare as-built drawings based on site modifications and markups.
