An MEP Draftsman is responsible for preparing detailed and accurate drawings for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems used in building construction. The draftsman works closely with engineers and project teams to ensure that all designs are clear, coordinated, and compliant with standards and regulations.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Diploma or ITI in Mechanical / Electrical / Civil Engineering or related field.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is a must; knowledge of Revit MEP / BIM software is a strong advantage.
• Strong knowledge of MEP systems, symbols, and drafting standards.
• Ability to understand and interpret engineering plans and schematics.
• Familiarity with local building codes, standards, and construction practices.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• 2 to 5 years of experience as an MEP Draftsman in construction or engineering consultancy.
• Experience working on residential, commercial, or industrial projects is preferred.

• Prepare and revise detailed 2D/3D MEP drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, or BIM software.
• Draft layouts for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection systems based on engineer inputs.
• Coordinate MEP drawings with architectural and structural drawings to avoid clashes.
• Implement design changes and markups from engineers and project managers.
• Ensure that drawings follow project specifications, codes, and company standards.
• Maintain a record of all revisions and updates in an organized and timely manner.
• Prepare as-built drawings after project completion or during handover.
• Support project teams with technical drafting assistance and documentation.
