As a Mid-Level MEP Engineer, you’ll take ownership of system designs, coordinate across disciplines, and support permitting and construction activities. You’ll work alongside senior engineers while continuing to grow your technical and project management skills.
What You’ll Do
As an MEP Engineer at RSP Engineers, you’ll prepare designs and calculations for building systems, ensuring they meet performance goals and regulatory standards. You’ll contribute to project success by integrating MEP systems into multidisciplinary designs and supporting construction oversight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design HVAC, electrical distribution, and plumbing systems for new and existing buildings
  • Prepare drawings, load calculations, and equipment specifications
  • Support permitting and respond to agency comments to ensure compliance with Florida Building Code and local requirements
  • Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, and contractors on integrated design solutions
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to verify system installation and performance
  • Contribute to QA/QC review of design documents for accuracy and constructability
  • Assist senior staff in project management tasks and client coordination

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • 3–5 years of MEP design experience (Florida projects preferred)
  • EIT certification required; PE license in progress preferred
  • Knowledge of HVAC load calculations, electrical distribution, and plumbing systems
  • Proficiency with Revit MEP, AutoCAD MEP, and related design software
  • Strong problem-solving, technical writing, and collaboration skills
  • Valid driver’s license for occasional project site visits
