  • Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certification in MEP Estimation or Quantity Surveying is a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Cost Estimation and Budgeting:
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for all MEP systems, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical systems in villa projects.
  • Review and analyze project specifications, drawings, and scope of work to identify all materials, equipment, and labor needed for MEP works.
  • Provide accurate and competitive pricing for MEP services, considering project requirements, timeline, and cost constraints.
  • Develop and maintain cost databases to compare historical project data with current trends to ensure accurate estimates.
  • Design Review and Scope Clarification:
  • Review MEP design plans, specifications, and drawings to ensure all necessary components are included for cost estimation.
  • Coordinate with the engineering team and subcontractors to clarify the scope of work and identify any discrepancies or omissions in the design.
  • Vendor and Subcontractor Management:
  • Solicit quotes from suppliers and subcontractors for MEP components, materials, and labor.
  • Evaluate vendor quotations, ensuring compliance with specifications and cost-effectiveness.
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favorable terms and ensure timely delivery.
  • Preparation of Bids and Tender Submissions:
  • Compile comprehensive bid packages that include labor, material, and equipment costs.
  • Submit tenders in response to requests for proposals (RFPs) from clients and contractors.
  • Ensure bids are aligned with project specifications, timelines, and budget constraints.
  • Cost Control and Financial Reporting:
  • Monitor MEP costs throughout the construction phase to ensure the project stays within budget.
  • Provide detailed reports on the cost status of MEP work, including any cost-saving opportunities or cost overruns.
  • Assist in contract negotiations and cost management through the project lifecycle.
  • Value Engineering:
  • Recommend alternative materials or construction methods to reduce costs without compromising quality or project performance.
  • Review value engineering proposals and provide feedback on their feasibility and cost-effectiveness.
  • Project Coordination and Communication:
  • Work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and project managers to ensure all MEP systems are accurately estimated and coordinated.
  • Participate in project meetings to discuss scope, risks, and challenges related to MEP systems.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on MEP cost estimates to senior management and stakeholders.
