Description

We are currently hiring a qualified MEP Inspector to join our team for an upcoming project based in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Prior experience in MEP inspection or quality control (typically 5+ years).
  • Familiarity with construction management software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, BIM, or similar).
  • Certification in quality assurance/inspection (e.g., QA/QC certification, Abu Dhabi Engineer’s License Card, or equivalent) is an advantage.
  • Working knowledge of safety regulations and procedures in the construction industry.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Strong knowledge of MEP systems, codes, and standards (e.g., Abu Dhabi/UAE local codes).
  • Excellent understanding of construction processes and quality control procedures.
  • Attention to detail and ability to identify potential issues early.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and schematics.
  • Knowledge of inspection tools and testing procedures.
Responsibilities
  1. Conduct routine inspections of MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical wiring, fire protection, plumbing, and drainage systems.
  2. Verify that materials, equipment, and installation practices comply with approved specifications, standards, and construction drawings.
  3. Identify and report non-conformances, discrepancies, or defects in MEP works and recommend corrective actions.
  4. Supervise and witness testing and commissioning activities for MEP systems to ensure proper functionality and performance.
  5. Verify that test results meet the project’s requirements and applicable standards.
  6. Maintain accurate records of inspections, test reports, and any quality-related issues or corrective actions.
  7. Review and verify contractor-submitted shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements for compliance with project specifications.
  8. Collaborate with contractors, other consultants, and other project stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of MEP works.
  9. Provide technical support and guidance to construction teams on MEP-related matters.
  10. Attend project meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and quality control issues.
  11. Ensure that all MEP works comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
  12. Monitor and enforce adherence to safety protocols during MEP installation and testing activities.
  13. Inspect the progress of MEP installations against the project schedule and highlight any delays or risks.
  14. Provide input on the sequencing and coordination of MEP works to avoid conflicts with other trades.
