JOB SUMMARY:

The MEP Project Engineer will be responsible for managing, coordinating, and overseeing the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems in construction projects. This role will ensure all systems are designed, installed, and maintained to meet the project specifications, budget, and timelines while complying with relevant codes and safety standards.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in MEP systems design, installation, or project management, preferably within the construction industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of MEP systems, building codes, safety standards, and regulations.
  • Experience with MEP project management software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, etc.)
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities
  • Project Coordination:
  • Lead and coordinate MEP-related tasks across all phases of the project, including design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems into the overall project.
  • Design Review & Development:
  • Review and approve MEP designs and specifications to ensure they meet client requirements, project objectives, and industry standards.
  • Work with design teams to troubleshoot and resolve design issues or conflicts.
  • Procurement & Cost Management:
  • Oversee the procurement process for MEP materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery within budget.
  • Monitor and track the budget for MEP systems to ensure cost control and prevent overages.
  • Site Supervision & Quality Control:
  • Supervise MEP installation on-site, ensuring all systems are installed correctly, safely, and according to project specifications.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality and compliance with safety standards.
  • Troubleshooting & Problem Solving:
  • Identify and resolve issues related to MEP systems during installation, commissioning, or operational phases.
  • Provide technical support to field personnel and subcontractors as needed.
  • Compliance & Documentation:
  • Ensure that MEP installations comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including shop drawings, as-built drawings, inspection reports, and testing records.
  • Commissioning & Handover:
  • Coordinate the testing, commissioning, and handover of MEP systems to ensure they are fully operational and meet client requirements.
  • Provide training to end-users and maintenance teams as required.
