SUMMARY

Mortenson is currently seeking a MEP Project Manager II responsible for providing overall direction and leadership on MEP dominant projects or MEP scopes of work on medium to large projects, managing project quality, timeliness, and safety, mentoring the project team, and developing and enhancing customer relationships through excellent service.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent field experience
  • Minimum seven years of construction management experience, preferably with a Mechanical or Electrical Contractor
  • Current driver’s license
  • Ability to fulfill development to closeout responsibilities for complex projects
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to organize and manage multiple project tasks
  • Basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office, project, and pertinent web application skills
  • Positive and professional attitude with strong customer service skills
  • Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies
  • Active listening skills and effective communication including openness to diverse input and feedback
  • Ability to travel up to 100%

Responsibilities
  • Manage the overall financial health of projects, including financial projections, cost codes, invoices, and monthly owner billings
  • Oversee budget and selection of trade partners and suppliers, handle billings and contract management, and manage the 3-D coordination and commissioning processes
  • Lead project closeout activities, including operations and maintenance manuals, model turnover, and training
  • Manage Assistant Project Manager(s) and Project Engineer(s), providing job assignments, career development, and performance feedback
  • Function as the main point of contact with the owner and on-site representative, resolving site concerns and building positive relationships
  • Manage change orders, determining when to submit and obtaining customer/architect approval
  • Maintain schedule and budget until project completion, and provide high-level management of quality, risk, safety, and compliance
  • Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels, and lead team members by example, offering effective coaching and feedback
