Description
General Description of Role and Responsibilities: Role Summary Supports the commercial and cost management of MEP works across a range of building projects, including residential, commercial, hospitality, healthcare, fit-out, and industrial developments. Responsible for preparing accurate quantity take-offs, Bills of Quantities, and cost plans, supporting tendering and cost estimation activities, and assisting with cost control throughout the project lifecycle. Contributes to interim valuations, variation assessments, cashflow forecasting, and final accounts, while working closely with project teams to ensure accurate reporting, effective cost control, and compliance with applicable standards and procedures. Key Responsibilities 1. Measurement & Quantification Undertake quantity take-offs for Electrical, Firefighting, Plumbing, and HVAC works using applicable standards. Use software tools (e.g., Cost X, AutoCAD) for quantity take-off and summarize quantities, transfer data into BOQs or cost plans, including carrying out bulk checks. Draft or Validate Bills of Quantities, including carrying out bulk checks. 2. Cost Estimation & Rate Analysis Support cost estimation activities by identifying basic material and labour rates and understanding rate analysis for standard work items. 3. Tendering & Procurement Support Lead hospital construction/renovation projects involving MEP & biomedical systems. Manage vendor selection, contracts, and service agreements. Monitor budgets, timelines, and quality standards. Act as liaison between contractors, consultants, and hospital management. 4. Cost Control, Commercial Management & Reporting Prepare interim payment recommendations, maintain cost control documentation, and manage change control processes. Contribute to cost reporting, cashflow forecasting, valuation of variations, tracking of risk allowances, and preparation of final accounts 5. Technical Knowledge (MEP Works) Having basic knowledge of key building components and construction methods in construction related to MEP works Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills: Diploma or Bachelor's Technology in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing. 3 - 6 years of experience in quantity surveying, cost management, or estimation for MEP works on building projects such as Residential, Commercial, Hotels, Hospitals, Fit-out, and Industrial/Warehouse developments (depending on project requirements). Should be proficient in CAD, Cost-X (quantity takeoff tools), and other quantification/estimation software. Excellent skills in MS Excel and Word, and the ability to learn and adapt to customized software Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Excellent Interpersonal and presentation Skills.
