Job Title: Senior Planning Engineer / Planning Manager
Department: Project Controls / Planning
Reports to: Project Director / Construction Manager / Head of Project Controls
Location: Dubai

JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Planning Engineer / Planning Manager is responsible for developing, monitoring, and updating project schedules, coordinating with various stakeholders, and ensuring that the project is delivered on time and within budget. This role involves leading the planning function across one or multiple projects, identifying risks and delays, and proposing mitigation strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum [10–15] years of relevant experience in planning and scheduling for large-scale construction/infrastructure projects.
  • Proficient in planning software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, and Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) and other project control tools.
  • Familiar with FIDIC, NEC, or other contract types.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
  • PMP / PSP certification (preferred).

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules (baseline, revised, and look-ahead).
  • Prepare and manage project time controls including S-curves, histograms, and critical path analysis.
  • Lead the planning and scheduling function for complex construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to integrate project activities into the master schedule.
  • Analyze project progress and performance; identify deviations from planned progress and propose corrective actions.
  • Prepare progress reports (daily, weekly, monthly) for internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Provide input for budgeting and cost planning.
  • Evaluate contractor schedules and provide feedback/recommendations.
  • Participate in claims analysis and time impact analysis for extensions of time (EOT).
  • Attend project meetings and present schedule updates and recovery plans.
  • Mentor and supervise junior planning staff where applicable.
