INTRODUCTION

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Analyst Developer to join our Merchandise and Supply Chain team. The ideal candidate will have excellent SQL skills across multiple platforms, a strong desire to learn, and a natural aptitude for problem-solving. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth operation of our systems and providing top-tier support to internal and external stakeholders.

KNOWLEDGE

  • Proven experience with SQL and relational databases across multiple platforms, including database design, query optimization and stored procedures.
  • Experience with ticketing systems and support workflows.
  • Ability to build and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports.
  • Proven experience with API’s (REST/SOAP), XML/JSON and integration frameworks.
  • Experience in data movement across platforms eg data services
  • Familiarity with Merchandising and Supply Chain systems advantageous
  • Knowledge of IBM iSeries environment is highly desirable

SKILLS

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt in a hybrid legacy/modern tech environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good documentation skills

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 3-5 years IT experience in a development or Support role.
Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support to end-users and business stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries across multiple platforms (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, DB2).
  • Collaborate with developers, analysts, and business users to understand and resolve data-related issues.
  • Collaborate with QA and operations teams to test and deploy updates and enhancements.
  • Analyse and resolve complex systems issues by working with end users and IT staff eg. participating in debugging sessions and root-cause analysis of production issues.
  • Document support processes, solutions, and known issues.
  • Create and maintain documentation for programs, data flows, and system architecture
  • Monitor system performance and proactively identify potential issues.
  • Participate in system upgrades, testing, and deployment activities.
  • Develop and execute test plans to ensure the reliability and functionality of system enhancements.
  • Conduct thorough validation of new features to guarantee successful implementation.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for continuous improvement in merchandise and supply chain systems.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging technologies to propose innovative solutions.
