The Role: As our permanent full time Merchandise Clerk, based in Auckland you will provide essential operational support to the Merchandise Manager RVSC – Retail, coordinating stock movements, replenishment, and inventory accuracy across multiple retail locations in New Zealand. This role plays a key part in ensuring the right stock is in the right place at the right time to support strong sales performance across both stores and online. Working closely with retail teams, the warehouse, suppliers, and couriers, you will support day‑to‑day stock control activities, including receipting, replenishment coordination, purchase order processing (once approved), and inventory record maintenance. Using stock and sales data, you will assist with identifying low‑stock risks, monitoring backorders and delivery delays, and producing accurate reporting to support the Merchandise Manager’s buying and replenishment decisions. This is a detail‑focused role ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, systems, and cross‑functional teams while building experience in retail merchandise operations. Key Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Merchandise Manager RVSC, coordinate with suppliers and retail teams, to maintain stock levels in stores, ensuring the right stock is in the right place, at the right time to optimise sales opportunities for our Retail Sales Team. Provide operational buying support for multiple retail locations across New Zealand. Reconcile delivery receipts against invoices, investigate and resolve discrepancies, and update inventory records with a high level of accuracy. Compile replenishment proposals based on stock min/max levels and availability for review/approval and raise purchase orders in line with approved buying decisions. Analyse stock data to identify low‑stock risks, monitor backorders, track delivery delays, and communicate availability updates to the retail team. Learn and coordinate the end‑to‑end stocktake process under the direction of the Merchandise Manager, including store liaison, variance investigation, and reconciling physical stock to inventory records. Maintain high data integrity across POS and inventory systems. Execute approved pricing and promotional changes with end-to-end accuracy and controls as part of the Merchandise Manager RVSC’s strategy. Provide the Merchandise Manager RVSC with operational insights and analysis to assist continuous improvement initiatives across stock optimisation and replenishment processes. Produce sales performance reporting to inform and support the Merchandise Manager RVSC’s buying decisions. Monitor competitor activity, conduct competitor price checks, compile insights and summary observations, and present findings to the Merchandise Manager RVSC to identify opportunities, price integrity and risk mitigation. Contribute to the maintenance of data integrity for the online retail store, including adding new products descriptions/specifications and imagery. Provide Online order support, including processing dropship orders, coordinate with suppliers/couriers, including dispatch coordination and consignment tracking. Actively grow your knowledge of current and new products instore and within the industry, Other duties as required. Actively participate in the THL Health and Safety system and Sustainability Models Display energy and drive towards thl’s company goals. What We Are Looking For: Minimum 2+ years proven experience in Merchandise/Stock control in a retail environment (and/or an equivalent NZQF Level 2 or 3 qualification or AQF Certificate II/III). Strong problem-solving skills with a can-do attitude. Attention to detail and high level of accuracy are important to you. Advanced level Excel skills and proficient in Word / Outlook / Teams. Experience with POS (Shopify) / Inventory (Unleashed Inventory) systems. Strong numerical and data aptitude. A customer driven focus. Collaborative working style and excellent communicator. Ability to help across the business as and when required. A hands-on approach to stock management when required. Ability to meet deadlines in a timely manner. Hours And Days Of Work: Minimum of 40 hours per week, working between 8:30-5pm from Monday to Friday. What We Offer: A position in our brand-new head office at our industry leading flagship location.
