Description Coast of Maine is seeking a Merchandise Intern to serve as a liaison between the territory managers and the customer to deliver necessary marketing material, POP and check product inventory for a variety of garden centers and hardware stores in New England and upstate New York. This position requires weekly travel, sometimes overnight, to service these customers. This will be a seasonal role to assist during the spring and summer months. If you have a passion for gardening, love building relationships, and want to gain experience in the industry, this may be a great fit for you! Responsibilities: Deliver marketing materials and POP including signs, pallet sign holders, etc. Deliver product samples Check inventory of products Track the deliveries and inventory on a shared file Work with garden centers and hardware stores on product placement and set up Build positive relationships Understand and convey the benefits of Coast of Maine to the customer Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Retail experience preferred Be able to lift 50 lbs. safely Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to travel for multiple overnights a week Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Currently pursuing or having obtained a degree in a business or agriculture science related field One year of experience in retail preferred
