The role reports to the Head of Merchandising and will ensures cohesive, consumer-first assortments that maximize profitability, elevate the brand in market, and strengthen alignment with global strategies. The Role: The role has full end-to-end accountability for the category and is central to translating the Brand & Merchandising vision into market-ready assortments that resonate with consumers, drive profitable growth, and strengthen the brand’s competitive positioning. Day to day responsibilities include; Define and implement the long term category strategy, ensuring alignment with global brand direction and local market needs Own the end-to-end category strategy development for all Key Accounts and D2C channels, including full responsibility for assortment planning Establish clear range architecture that balances innovation, consumer demand, and commercial viability Lead the full seasonal planning process, including financial planning, range selection, pricing, volume forecasting, and lifecycle management Ensure assortments are optimized for profitability, consumer relevance, and channel differentiation, driving cross-functional alignment on seasonal launch calendars for maximum impact in-market End-to-end ownership of GTM processes for the category Owns the translation of consumer, competitor, and marketplace insights into actionable category strategies Act as the key liaison between global Merchandising teams and local sales/marketing functions, facilitating market feedback, and sell through insights Own Category specific inputs to review demand & supply KPIs in-line with category commercial objectives Develop advanced reporting dashboards and tools to monitor assortment efficiency, sell-through, and profitability Skills and Experience: A range of skills are necessary including: Demonstrated experience in Category Merchandising/Management within Sporting Goods/Sports Lifestyle Commercial & Financial planning capabilities within an Omni-channel business model. Including, Gross Sales, Net Sales, Gross Margin & planning/forecasting experience with ability to translate into actionable merchandise strategies Go-to-Market (GTM) leadership – experience in leading an end-to-end GTM process.
