We are looking for an individual with vast experience in managing multi-million-dollar portfolios with the ability to adapt and pivot in a fast-paced environment.   • Planning experience within apparel/softgoods and planning experience across a variety of categories is advantageous
  • Proven experience in merchandise planning, buying, or category management.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

As a Planner in Apparel working for Kmart, your role is vital to ensure we have the right stock in the right place at the right time whilst understanding the Kmart customer, improving inventory efficiencies, and delivering overall commercial outcomes towards the Kmart strategy.
We’re looking for a strategic and analytical Merchandise Planner to join our team and play a key role in shaping our product offering, managing private label development, and optimizing pricing strategies.

Some of the key responsibilities are (but not limited to):

  • Managing the merchandise financial plan to achieve sales, profit, stockturn and ROI budgets
  • Delivering key profit objectives through innovation, customer orientation, inventory management and analysis
  • Establish strategies to satisfy the target customer in line with merchandise strategy
  • Develop product assortments that align with customer needs and business objectives.
  • Trading your business to maximise every opportunity and minimise risks
  • Monitor market pricing and adjust strategies to maintain competitiveness
  • Control a significant Open to Buy and position private label products to stand out in a competitive market through unique value propositions.
  • Forecasting stock requirements to maximise revenue, margin and stock turn performance and balance pricing with margin goals to support sustainable growth.
  • Working collaboratively with your buyer and the broader team
