As a Product Controller in our EMEA Payments Product Control team, focusing on Merchant Services you will ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial statements and you will support the business in achieving its objectives. As part of a team that has experienced significant growth and transformation, you will have the opportunity to broaden your finance skills and contribute to the success of our Merchant Services business.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, CAPABILITIES AND SKILLS:

  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) with 3+ years of experience.
  • Strong accounting and double-entry skills, with the ability to navigate product P&L and balance sheets.
  • Proven ability to identify and resolve control and risk management issues.
  • Commercial acumen and financial services industry awareness.
  • Knowledge of cash accounts, nostros, and cash management processes.
  • Familiarity with digital accelerator applications (e.g., Alteryx, QlikSense) is beneficial.
  • Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently.
  • Strong control mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, CAPABILITIES AND SKILLS:

  • Experience as a product controller with a track record of execution on finance and business deliverables.
  • Knowledge of Merchant Services is advantageous but not essential.
  • Ability to challenge existing control frameworks and implement CIB governance models.
  • Enthusiastic, highly motivated, and adaptable to changing situations.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the transaction control cycle, ensuring governance and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Lead month-end close processes, analyzing revenue drivers and balance sheet movements.
  • Collaborate with the Financial Control team to resolve variances and month-end issues.
  • Partner with the EMEA Merchant Services business and F&BM team to maintain a strong control environment.
  • Manage the monthly forecasting process in cooperation with Business Managers and Product partners.
  • Address the impact of legal entity and regulatory changes post-Brexit on product control.
  • Participate in internal audits, risk reviews, and new product approvals from a finance control perspective.
  • Ensure compliance with control policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Contribute to transformational Payments initiatives and projects, including post-Brexit migrations.
  • Support the broader Merchant Services Controller team and Regional Payments controller.
  • Engage in projects outside core responsibilities to enhance your skillset.
