Description

An new and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced analyst to join the UK’s leading specialist care provider. The role will help drive research, identify and implement the acquisition growth strategy of the business. We are looking for a self-motivated individual with strong analytical skills, commercial acumen and a proven track record of applying this to deliver successful outcomes. The role will have a direct impact in delivery of growth and implementation of our strategy.
The M&A Analyst will play a key role in supporting the identification, evaluation, and execution of acquisition opportunities aligned to the organisation’s strategic growth plan. Working closely with the Commercial Director and wider Commercial and Finance teams, this position is central to delivering inorganic growth by supporting the full transaction lifecycle from market scanning and deal origination through to financial modelling, due diligence, deal execution, and post-acquisition review.
This is a pivotal role in a high-growth organisation with a strong acquisition pipeline and ambitious expansion goals over the next 510 years.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • Preferably AAT qualified or have 2 years’ experience in a similar role;
  • Good Microsoft Excel knowledge, including financial modelling;
  • Strong commercial judgement with experience assessing investment opportunities;
  • Demonstrable experience of financial analysis;
  • Clear and confident communication style, both verbal and written;
  • Able to manage own workload and prioritise accordingly;
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in analysis;
  • Ability to priorities and manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment;
  • Comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and external advisors;
  • Previous M&A, transaction services, corporate finance or investment banking experience is preferred;
  • Experience in healthcare or social care is advantageous but not essential.
  • Degree-educated with a strong academic track record;
Responsibilities
  • Conduct commercial and financial research and analysis on potential acquisition targets
  • Support the preparation of investment papers for the Capital Committee
  • Assist with development of financial models and valuation analysis for acquisition decisions
  • Assist in the due diligence process, working closely with legal, operational, and finance teams
  • Prepare acquisition case analysis and risk assessments that will feed into business cases and recommendations for senior leadership
  • Monitor and evaluate market trends and competitor activity to inform the M&A strategy
  • Support post-deal integration planning and post-investment reviews
  • Support the wider Commercial function in analysis where required (e.g. tender or development opportunities)
  • Ad hoc strategic financial analysis to support business initiatives and stakeholder queries
