JOB OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a highly skilled MongoDB Services Specialist to ensure the stability, security, and performance of our database systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing MongoDB services with a focus on uptime, backup reliability, query optimization, and proactive monitoring.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3 to 6 years of experience in MongoDB administration, performance tuning, and backup strategies.
• Strong expertise in query optimization, indexing, and replication.
• Experience in database monitoring tools and proactive performance tuning.
• Knowledge of high-availability architectures and disaster recovery planning.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex database issues and implement effective solutions.
• Familiarity with cloud-based MongoDB deployments is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to database management.

• Uptime & Reliability: Maintain a 99.9% uptime, ensuring less than 9 hours of downtime annually.
• Backup & Recovery: Achieve a 100% success rate in database backup restores by conducting regular restore tests.
• Query Performance: Monitor and optimize critical query response times to within 180 seconds, as per business requirements.
• Storage Management: Ensure storage usage remains below 80% of total capacity and proactively plan for alternatives once usage reaches 70%.
• Job Scheduling & Execution: Maintain a failure rate of less than 2% for scheduled jobs, promptly investigating and resolving any failures.
• Data Integrity & Consistency: Perform regular data consistency checks and immediately address any discrepancies or corruption.
• Maintenance & Upgrades: Limit maintenance windows to under 6 hours per month, scheduling them during off-peak hours.
• Scalability & Performance: Monitor active users and ensure database infrastructure can handle peak loads without degradation.
• Resource Optimization: Identify peak usage times and optimize database resources accordingly.
• Support & Continuity: Provide replacement support staff during periods of annual leave for assigned personnel.
