JOB SUMMARY The MES Support Engineer is responsible for providing operational support for Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and associated IT infrastructure across production lines. This role supports system deployment, troubleshooting, and asset management to ensure continuous production uptime and successful integration of MES with manufacturing equipment. The MES Support Engineer works closely with IT, engineering, automation, and production teams to maintain stable system operations in a high-volume manufacturing environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Provide real-time operational support for MES applications and IT hardware including desktops, printers, and barcode scanners across rotating production shifts to minimize production downtime. * Support deployment of MES applications to new manufacturing lines, including system configuration, testing of new features, and production validation. * Track and manage MES-related assets including deployments, replacements, and lifecycle documentation in accordance with IT inventory policies. * Maintain documentation related to system changes including Process Change Notices (PCN), deviation requests, approvals, and configuration updates. * Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to support machine integration with MES systems. * Troubleshoot hardware and system issues affecting MES environments in high-throughput manufacturing operations. * Diagnose and resolve network-level connectivity or protocol issues impacting MES or associated production systems. * Deploy, configure, and maintain Windows-based MES client applications, including system compatibility and configuration management. * Serve as a liaison between vendors, automation teams, and IT teams to support integration between MES and manufacturing equipment such as cameras, welding machines, PLCs, or SCADA systems. * Support continuous improvement initiatives by monitoring MES performance, recommending workflow optimizations, and supporting alignment with production KPIs. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS * Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electronics, Engineering, or a related field. * 2–5 years of experience supporting MES or manufacturing systems in production environments. * Experience troubleshooting hardware such as desktops, industrial printers, and barcode scanners used in manufacturing environments. * Strong understanding of MES platforms and system configuration within manufacturing workflows. * Experience diagnosing network connectivity issues affecting production systems. * Experience deploying and maintaining Windows-based MES client applications. * Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. * Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across multiple teams and production shifts. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL) and SQL for querying logs or troubleshooting backend system issues. * Experience with SCADA systems and PLC integrations. * Experience with industrial automation systems including sensors, PLCs, and machine control systems. * Familiarity with scripting or programming languages such as C#, ASP.NET, Python, or PowerShell. * Experience with reporting and data visualization tools such as Power BI. WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Work is performed in both office and manufacturing environments supporting production systems. The role may require supporting rotating shifts and interacting with manufacturing equipment and IT infrastructure on the production floor.
