Are you an expert in analytical chemistry and metabolomics that would be excited about supporting cutting-edge research within the fields of nutrition, microbiome and health? We are looking for a dedicated candidate with high technical expertise that would be thrilled to maintain and develop our liquid chromatography mass spectrometry (LC-MS)-based metabolomics infrastructure and engage with a collaborative, dynamic and ambitious research team.
The position is available from 1 April 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

We are looking for a motivated candidate that thrives in an academic environment, which finds joy in helping others and satisfaction in handling delicate LC-MS equipment making sure researchers obtain high quality metabolomics data.
The ideal candidate is a team player with a very strong drive and several years of experience in metabolomics.

REQUIREMENTS, QUALIFICATIONS, AND EVALUATION CRITERIA

We expect you to have:

  • A PhD degree or at least three years of experience in metabolomics, analytical chemistry, or related discipline
  • In-depth knowledge and extensive experience with liquid chromatography-based metabolomics (e.g., method development, sample preparation, mass spectrometry-based analyses, mass-spectrometry based software, as well as data management)
  • Experience and a proven track record of successful collaboration in diverse research environments
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

The metabolomics platform manager’s duties will primarily include maintenance and development of our LC-MS-based metabolomics infrastructure. This includes day-to-day maintenance of LC-MS instruments, trouble shooting, implementation and development of methods and standard operating procedures, as well as coordination of metabolomics analyses in close collaboration with colleagues. The metabolomics manager is also expected to contribute to the training of students and staff in LC-MS and metabolomics. Moreover, the Metabolomics Platform Manager will interact with bioanalysts on ad-hoc laboratory tasks.
