Job Purpose Responsible for designing, managing, and enforcing metadata standards across all data assets of the bank. This role holds high-level access and oversight privileges over the bank’s data ecosystem, ensuring comprehensive metadata documentation, discoverability, lineage, and governance. plays a critical part in enabling data trust, quality, and reuse across operational and analytical domains. Job Description 1. Define and maintain the enterprise metadata model and metadata standards across all data environments. 2. Manage metadata tools and platforms to ensure accurate, complete, and real-time metadata across the bank’s data assets. 3. Collaborate with data engineers, modelers, architects, and business users to gather, validate, and document metadata. 4. Establish automated metadata harvesting, lineage tracking, and impact analysis processes. 5. Govern metadata tagging for all data layers, including raw, curated, semantic, and BI/reporting. 6. Ensure metadata accessibility through catalogs, APIs, and search interfaces for all users. 7. Support regulatory, audit, and data governance reporting with comprehensive metadata views. 8. Maintain privileged access to metadata repositories, glossaries, and lineage tracking tools. Policies, Processes & Procedures 9. Follow and implement all relevant department policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner. Day-to-day Operations 10. Follow the day-to-day operations related to own jobs in the department and preparing requested reports to ensure continuity of work. Ensure being innovative, initiative and recommend new approaches related to own jobs. Compliance 11. Comply with all relevant CBE regulations, banking laws, AML regulations and internal AAIB policies and code of conduct in order to maintain AAIB’s sound legal position and mitigate any potential risks. Education: • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Data Management, or related field. • 5 - 8 years of experience in metadata management, data architecture, or data governance. Technical Skills: • Strong understanding of metadata frameworks, data lineage, and data catalogs • Experience with metadata management tools (e.g, Informatica EDC, Alation, ..) • Familiarity with SQL, data warehousing, big data, and semantic modeling Soft Skills: Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams, and clear communication skills.
