Description

Summary/Objective The Saw Operator is responsible for handling saw requirements for the Scale Shop operation. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. * Responsible for unloading all incoming steel from flatbed trucks/trailer with overhead crane, as well as obtaining, transfer and positioning of material for cutting. * Verification of conformance to specifications by reading/using tape measure or other tools * Forklift operation or willing and able to be trained to safely operate a forklift * Must identify, store, stack, organize and stage product. * Mark required identification on workpiece. * Must be able to work from a pic list and determine priority of where parts are needed. * Replace defective cutting blade or wheel, * Other preventative maintenance as required. Competencies * Basic Mathematics. * Safety Conscious * Initiative * Ability to read blueprints, tape measure and other types of measuring devices * Teamwork Orientation Required Education and Experience * High School Diploma or equivalent. Preferred Education and Experience * Two (2) years of factory/manufacturing experience with blaster or similar equipment. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 1st shift - 7:00am to 3:30pm, or 2nd shift – 3:30pm to midnight, 40 hours per week. Overtime may be required based on business needs. Responsibilities

The operator is responsible for unloading steel using an overhead crane and cutting materials according to specifications. They must also perform preventative maintenance on cutting blades and organize staged products.
