POSITION SUMMARY:

We are currently seeking a full-time, experienced Metal Fabricator to join our fabrication workshop in Mackay. The role involves hands-on welding, assembly, and manufacture of both standard and bespoke steel components used in agricultural applications.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in heavy fabrication, welding and structural steel assembly
• Demonstrated experience with agricultural equipment highly desirable
• Ability to work from technical drawings with minimal supervision
• Physical capacity to carry out manual handling, lifting and standing for extended periods
• Good interpersonal skills and a safety-first attitude

• Read and interpret complex design drawings and technical schematics to determine metalwork specifications.
• Operate CNC plasma cutters & manual press brakes, band saws & rollers.
• Mark out, cut, bend, and shape structural and sheet steel components to required dimensions and tolerances.
• Assemble parts using welding techniques, ensuring structural integrity and dimensional accuracy.
• Modify and repair heavy-duty agricultural equipment and attachments using approved repair techniques.
• Maintain safe operation of fabrication machinery and assist with workshop layout improvements.
• Liaise with production supervisor and drafters to improve the manufacturability of components.
