Pro Metal Industries is hiring for a Full Time Metal Fabrication Estimator for our Defense Customers to work in a world classmetal fabrication and machining facility located in Regina, SK.Reporting to the Defense Program Manager, you will be responsiblefor analyzing project requirements, preparing detailed cost estimates, and ensuring the accuracy and competitiveness of our bids. You will work with our team of estimators and CAD technicians to provide quotes for clients and work instruction packages for production.
If you have a bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering or Manufacturing (or minimum 10 years industry experience), with a strong background in fabrication, welding and build to print, then this job is for you!

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering, manufacturing or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Solidworks is considered a plus
  • Combined drafting and estimating experience is preferred.
  • Experience with manufacturing ERP’s
  • Proven experience as a Metal Fabrication Estimator, with a focus on build to print
  • Experience in automotive, aerospace or OEM industries is preferred
  • Strong understanding of metal fabrication processes, materials, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Resident with the ability to pass a security assessment and provide a satisfactory criminal record check due to Pro Metal’s military Controlled Goods designation.

Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze project specifications, drawings, and blueprints to determine material and labor requirements.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for build-to-print projects using various manufacturing operations, including but not limited to, welding, cutting, forming, machining
  • Collaborate with drafting, production, machining, and suppliers to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
  • Identify potential cost-saving opportunities
  • Communicate with clients, vendors, and subcontractors to obtain pricing and clarify project requirements.
  • Translate client technical requirements into proposals
  • Maintain and update estimating databases and tools.
  • Monitor and track project costs to ensure alignment with estimates.
