Salary: $68,000 to $78,000 pa (plus superannuation)
DVR Engineering is a high-profile, world-class manufacturer that has provided custom sheet metal fabrication and precision CNC machining solutions to various industries for over 36 years.
The company has a vacancy for a qualified and experienced Metal Fabricator/Welder at its Coolaroo, Victoria, business. This is a full-time, permanent position.
Metal Fabricators/Welders may be required to work on various projects involving sheet metal, plate, structural and piping. You will work in a production workshop environment as part of a manufacturing team.

QUALIFICATIONS

To be eligible for the role, the applicant must be/have:

• Certificate III (or above) in Engineering Fabrication Trade or equivalent Welder’s trade qualifications
• a minimum of 3 years of proven experience in a similar fabrication/welding role (workshop manufacturing environment)
• strong understanding of metal fabrication processes
• able to fabricate and assemble metal components using MIG and TIG welding processes

RESPONSIBILITIES/SKILLS

• must have experience in welding aluminium, mild steel, stainless steel, pipe and light & heavy gauge plate
• ability to select the correct welding process for the job
• be able to weld a range of material thicknesses
• be able to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
• be able to produce welded components to a high standard and promptly
  · fabricate high-quality components according to specifications

· assemble the fabricated component if required

• conduct quality checks on finished products by performing engineering measurements
• operate various metalworking tools and equipment
• maintain a clean and safe work environment in their workspace
